Layer Labs started with a problem I couldn't ignore. I was looking at the paper distress sign on my own boat and realised it was faded, peeling and completely useless. If something happened out there, could anyone on board actually make a mayday call from that? The answer was no.

I looked for a better solution and found nothing. So I made one. A precision-moulded sign, personalised with my vessel name and call sign, built to last the life of the boat. People who saw it on my boat wanted one for theirs. That was the beginning of Layer Labs.

The bungs tag came next. Every trailer boatie knows that feeling. The moment you realise you forgot your bungs after you've already launched. It has happened to most of us or we live in fear that it will. A bright orange tag on the steering wheel after wash-down. Simple, obvious, effective.

Every product in the Layer Labs range solves a real problem for boaties. On the water, at the ramp, or back home in the garage. The range is growing, but the brief stays the same: well-made, purposeful, and designed by someone who lives the lifestyle.

If I wouldn't use it myself, it doesn't get made.
